Sheetal Shah-Jani

Sheetal Shah-Jani is an attorney with over 20 years’ experience and a proven track record of leadership and teamwork. Sheetal began her career as a young lawyer representing the Houston Federation of Teachers Union and others through the legal system who may not have the means to get legal assistance. Throughout her professional career and in personal interactions, she has strived for honesty, excellence and equality, whether representing clients or in the community. 

Sheetal is an active member of the High School Band association and sits on its the board.  She has volunteered with the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Advancing Civics Education initiative to engage high school students in critical thinking about government, law and dispute resolution. Currently, she is a member of and participates in the District’s Equity and Diversity Interest Group.  This group is comprised of individuals from our community, including parents, current school board members, administration staff, and students, and meets on a monthly basis.  Sheetal has supported her husband as he has coached MNSA and MSA teams and coached and served on the Board of the township girls lacrosse league. 

Sheetal lives in Newtown Square with her husband, Vipul Jani, daughter Sarisa and son Sumit. Sarisa graduated from MNHS in 2020 and is currently a Freshman at University of Pittsburgh, and Sumit is a Freshman at MNHS. Sheetal enjoys exercising, reading, and traveling with her family. 

Sheetal’s vision for public education for our School District includes:

• Accountability for every tax dollar spent 

• More career days for post HS graduate education, including opportunities for trade schools
