Laurie Lynch is a pharmacist with over 30 years of hospital pharmacy experience. After graduating Summa cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh, she started her career at Springfield Hospital followed by a Fellowship at the Institute for Safe Medication Practices. She then was hired by the University of Pennsylvania Health System and has been with HUP for 28 years working in various roles, currently as an oncology pharmacist in their outpatient clinics. Laurie and her husband Doug are both alumni of Marple Newtown High School as are their 3 children. Their daughter Megan graduated from Pitt and is currently working as a certified critical care nurse at Lankenau. Their daughter Julia also graduated from Pitt and then received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Duke University. And their son Tyler, is a junior at the University of South Carolina.
Laurie has always valued the educational opportunities at MNSD and has volunteered in various PTO roles throughout her children’s schooling, including secretary of Culbertson PTO, several High School Athletic Booster Club executive boards as well as a panel member for the high school senior project. She has also served her community by serving on the MNSA executive board, being an assistant Girl Scout Leader for 8 years and an active member of the Newtown Square Presbyterian church having taught Sunday School and being involved with several mission projects. She has supported her husband as he coached many teams for MNSA, MNBA and NELL.
Now that her children are no longer in the MNSD, Laurie feels as though being a school board director is a perfect way to continue to give back to the community and to make sure that all children in MN can receive an excellent public-school education. Laurie loves to travel with her family and friends, hike in America's beautiful National parks and play tennis.
