CATHY WILT

Candidate for Newtown AUDITOR

Catherine Wilt is running for Newtown Township Auditor to ensure we have honest and transparent reporting on our Township’s operations and financial health. She is ready, enthusiastic, and highly qualified to serve in this capacity for all the citizens of Newtown Township, Delaware County.

Cathy Wilt is an accomplished Non-Profit Executive, Librarian, and Educator with 40+ years’ experience in the executive leadership of not-for-profit organizations and associations, libraries, museums, colleges, and universities. Her expertise spans corporate planning, information systems, operations and customer service, technical and management training, corporate and fiscal administration of annual budgets in excess of $120 million, and federal and state grant administration.

Cathy has been a proud resident of Newtown Square for 4 years after living in Drexel Hill for 15 years. Her family moved to Valley Forge in 1970, where she graduated from Phoenixville Area High School. She then graduated from James Madison University, the University of Pittsburgh, and Temple University, returning to the area to start her family, work at Ursinus College, and then Drexel University College of Information Studies. Cathy’s career took her to Ohio and Texas, where she worked with large-scale technology networks of libraries and other cultural heritage institutions, supporting their transitions to technology-based operations including large-scale text digitization initiatives.

Cathy enjoys a challenge. One position she accepted was advertised as, “The faint-hearted need not apply!” In 2002, she was recruited to return to Philadelphia to lead PALINET, the mid-atlantic consortium of libraries and the oldest organization of its type in the US. She also served as the Director of Libraries and Archives at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia and the Executive Director of PALCI before retirement.

It’s important that Newtown Township has dedicated, qualified elected citizens to oversee the execution of audits, both financial and procedural, so we can be confident our reports provide an honest and transparent picture of our township’s business activities. Cathy comes to auditing naturally as her father was a federal auditor based in Philadelphia for over 30 years.

Cathy spends her free time with family and friends enjoying the amazing wealth of history and the arts of Newtown Square and the broader Philadelphia area. She is a guitarist and singer, and a classical violist, having played in community orchestras for over 30 years. You may well see Cathy in the front row of the next concert at the Ardmore Music Hall!

Vote for CATHERINE WILT as NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP AUDITOR

to ensure honest and transparent reporting on our Township operations.
