ANDREW DAVIS

Candidate for Marple Newtown School Director

Andrew J. Davis is a dedicated advocate for quality education and a passionate member of the Marple Newtown community. With extensive experience as a Guidance Counselor in the Marple Newtown School District, Davis has a proven track record of supporting students' academic and personal growth.  In addition to his professional experiences within the district, he has spent time as a coach of many of the district's student-athletes.  Davis is also an active member of St. Pius X parish, where 2 of his children attend school, and he and his wife graduated. 


Beyond his work in the district, Davis has contributed to the broader educational landscape, including currently as a school counselor at Malvern Prep and previously with experience in other private schools where he developed new programs and fostered community engagement. Davis's educational background includes Master's degrees in Educational Leadership and Counseling from the University of Scranton and Villanova University, respectively, along with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Scranton.  Before college, he attended St. Joseph’s Prep in Philadelphia, graduating in 2002.  


A strong believer in community involvement, Davis was a leader of the Marple Newtown Education Association.  Davis volunteers his time coaching local athletes in both Marple Township and St. Pius X School communities.   He is committed to bringing his diverse experience and unwavering dedication to the Marple Newtown School Board, ensuring a bright future for all students.   


As a member of the school board, Davis’s objectives are…

  1. Prioritize the social, emotional, and mental health of students, providing adequate resources and support services.
  2. Support programs that promote positive youth development and responsible decision-making, like MNHS Mini-THon and PHMS Potter Cup!
  3. Support innovative teaching practices and professional development for teachers.
  4. Promote transparency and open communication between the school board, parents, and residents.
  5. Advocate for responsible budgeting and ensure that taxpayer dollars are used effectively to support student success.
  6. work collaboratively with all members of the school board to achieve the best outcomes for students.
